Incredibly rare original wooden ammunition crate dating from the early days of the Indian Wars, and early on in the days of the U. S. Army using the model 1871 and 1873 Colt revolvers! This is a Frankford Arsenal crate which is a rarity, as the crates were not deemed expendable items, and were intended to be returned in order to have them refilled and repacked at a later date.
